Another point to score against Renault for rubbish performance!!!! So, is anybody experiencing failure of map updates on Renault R-Link please? It probably makes it cheaper for Renault but it is such a nonsense. They have been brilliant in the past. Allow the system to update. You purchase updates new subscriptions to Live Services etc via the R-Link Store. So I did and they had me try different things and eventually they decided there was some sort of fault.
Regards Troubadix13 Hi Troubadix, Have you got R-Link 2? I hope the engineer is computer savvy or it could end in tears No idea ,Alan. So you don't need to worry. Even on home broadband you'd need good download speeds and generous allowance. The R-Link Store is also where you will buy a subscription to update your Live Services. If the map is unticked, synchronize.
I would like to kindly ask you to uninstall the map from the card and then reinstall it again. The R-Link 2 Update is for certain Kadjars only. After I ejected properly, as it was so quick I re inserted it and after R Link toolbox came up it said busy then it was up to date? I thought this was all over and done with, but I've received a sting in the tail. There should be clear instructions somewhere online. Is there any way to edit my post, as I probably should put it in there as a precaution? The real problem apart from having paid £110 for what hasn't been working for nearly a month now is that the update wiped my existing map off the device so I'm driving round without map guidance or traffic information.
All dies sind sogenannte Updates. As soon as there's an issue that requires more than false platitudes they are totally lost and incapable of doing anything other than lie. TomTom's speed cameras are not my favourites - the mobiles are only activated by users reporting them whilst on the road and very few people do that. There should be clear instructions somewhere online. .
All the above is assuming I've got it right and R-Link 2 works similarly to my R-Link. It seems daft that you have to ring a bloody helpline though to find out how to update. You need to setup an account with email address and password and you will then need to download and install R-Link Toolbox on your computer links to download are in the R-Link Store. But this R-Link stuff is abysmal. Oder Sie erhalten aktualisiertes Kartenmaterial. I think something odd has occured.
I would guess that Renault will wait for people to get in touch with them with R-Link problems. I will try again and if anything different I will post Cheers Andy. Because it is still much more expensive for the end user. Thanks to renault support guys my issue is now resolved. Because with mine there is no option to buy year map subscription, only single maps as they are released. My objection is that when the thing fails to function at even its own rubbish specs then what can be done? At least that is what the dealer said when I put my order in for the Kadjar back in August.
Add the check mark for the map and synchronize. Built in navigation systems are definitely the right way to go, but the R-Link has not filled the bill. Open the Toolbox, then clear the cache. I would guess that Renault will wait for people to get in touch with them with R-Link problems. I'll have to wait until next week when my car is due to go in. You are correct a previous update was just as quick then previous to that 20 minutes laptop and 20 minutes car! R-Link Helpline have sort of agreed it's unfortunate that they do not indicate which version and they'll see if anything might be done about that in the future. There is absolutely now communication channel of reporting issues with particular application Can you download and install TomTom live services through the R-Link 2 system, the car came with 3 years maps and traffic, it picks up fixed speed cameras but not mobile ones, so I am assuming that I need Live services, it allows me to switch on all the types of cameras within the R-Link 2 settings but it doesn't pick them up.
Hello Carminat, many thanks for your guidance. And you also have to choose a name for your car lol. My vehic le is now 4 years old, so I have seven maps on my toolbox, as you say, with no indication of which version. I did and it didn't work. Though of course not with the phone connected to the car as life's too short to go through that stress of trying to use it. If the map is ticked, untick it if you can and synchronize. If it's any use to you, this is one of the solutions offered to me it didn't work, but you can try and see what it does for you.
Regards Troubadix13 Harsh words, NeverRenault. Once you have completed this procedure, please check if everything is functional again. I know TomTom don't support this built in device, but I'd like to know if anybody else is having the same trouble as me. The support guy says nobody else has got the problem, and the techs need to deal with my account, but I think it's down to some failure of the Toolbox software and they are being economic with information about whether it is affecting anybody else. But I have no clue, which one is the v990. Let it do its thing and then you should be all up to date! To see if it will correct the fault.
